Bruce Springsteen and Danny Clinch Rock the House!

by Chris Murray on May 1, 2019

When I heard “A Night to Remember,” an evening in support of The Kristen Ann Carr Fund, was honoring photographer Danny Clinch, I knew I had to be there. Danny had his first exhibition at Govinda Gallery in September 2001. He was also featured in the traveling museum exhibition, Sound and Vision: Monumental Rock & Roll Photography.

Danny plays harmonica in the amazing Tangiers Blues Band and they performed a killer set in the loft at the Tribeca Grill in NYC, where “A Night to Remember” was held. Danny was surely honored when Bruce Springsteen joined the band during their set. They performed “Rockin’ Pneumonia and Boogie Woogie Flu” and “Down The Road Apiece” together, and they rocked hard, to say the least. I could not stop dancing the entire set.

It was also a great pleasure to see photographer Frank Stefanko and his wife Carol. Frank’s photographs are on the cover of Springsteen’s albums The River and Darkness on the Edge of Town. Frankie also had his first exhibition at Govinda Gallery, Days of Hope and Dreams: An Intimate Portrait of Bruce Springsteen, in September 2003, and was featured in the museum exhibition Sound and Vision: Monumental Rock & Roll Photography.

What an exciting and joyous evening it was!
