Donovan Elected to 2012 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame!
It was thrilling news that Donovan was elected yesterday into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and will be inducted at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony on April 14th, 2012. I recently assisted Donovan at his extraordinary Sunshine Superman concert at the Royal Albert Hall on June 3rd. It was such a fabulous evening and Donovan was joined by fellow Hall of Fame member Jimmy Page as his surprise guest. I can’t think of anyone who deserves to be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame at this moment more than Donovan. Donovan is a beloved friend and is also a great visual artist who Govinda Gallery is honored to represent. Congratulations Donovan and congratulations to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

What is amazing is how long overdue, none the less heartily welcomed, this news is. Donovan is nigh singular in what he has accomplished. Add to that a miraculous voice that has not diminished with time and what a wholly derived newest honor is his inclusion in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Bravo to he and his family, and you Chris, a multiple decade friend and trumpeter!

I am so happy to hear this news!!!!!!! No one could possibly deserve it more.
Please tell Donovan to do a show in southeastern Ontario, Canada.
He will nearby at his Hall of fame induction. He can pop up to Toronto.
He needs a way to notify fans of his shows by email.
I want to dance to Sunshine Superman live.
Wow! It’s about freaking time wouldn’t you say? This guy is an unbelievable poet and had tons of hits from “Catch The Wind” to “Atlantis” to “Hurdy Gurdy Man” and was on the forefront of the entire psychedelic movement.
My lady and myself had the opportunity to spend a weekend with him at a Myth & Music workshop he did at Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY back in April 1998. He is a very spiritual man. His song “Try For The Sun” kept me sane as a kid. It was a mantra that served as an anchor to Sanity for me to not give in to the crazy-making, cult-ural consensus trance of falsely believing I had to “follow the herd off the end of the cliff”.
Leaders are always a minority because they are visionaries who are always ahead of their time. Donovan was/is most certainly one of these. I guess that’s why it took this long to get him elected into the Rock & Roll hall of fame. As far as I’m concerned, his poetry alone is phenomenal, but when blended his extremely sensitive, creative and very versatile musical stlyeS (plural), he is one extraordinary (yet simple) man. How many people can combine those qualities together?
