May 24th is Bob Dylan’s birthday. DIVE, the Rock & Roll bar below The Darlington House at Dupont Circle in Washington, DC, is hosting a double celebration. May 24th also happens to be the same day that Bruce Springsteen performed at The Childe Harold in 1973. It was the first of three nights in a row playing there. Childe Harold is now the wonderful restaurant Darlington House. It will be a musical evening, and there will be live performances at DIVE from 7PM on.

Also celebrating Springsteen and Dylan and their great musical artistry is a book release party the same evening at DIVE for Bob Dylan: NYC 1961-1964, photography by Ted Russell, and for Bruce Springsteen: From Asbury Park, to Born To Run, to Born In The USA, featuring David Gahr’s photographs of Bruce Springsteen. Both books are published by Rizzoli. Ted Russell’s photographs of Bob Dylan are currently on exhibition at Addison/Ripley Fine Art in Georgetown through June 1, 2019.

Chris Murray, co-author of both books, will be on hand at DIVE this Friday, May 24th, to sign purchased copies.

This musical celebration and book signing is free and open to the public.
