John Waters ‘Kills It’ at The Birchmere

Part of our holiday festivities was going to see John Waters’ Christmas show at the Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia. This was our fifth year in a row seeing John’s show and it gets better every year. After John’s stand-up act hundreds of fans lined up to have John sign his new book Carsick: John Waters Hitchhikes Across America. I was first introduced to John by photographer extraordinaire Greg Gorman at one of Greg’s exhibitions at Govinda Gallery. John wrote the foreword to Greg’s remarkable book of portraits Inside Life.
