Ronnie Wood Celebrates His First Exhibition
Govinda Gallery in Washington, D.C. was delighted to host the first exhibition in America for Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood. ‘Woody’ spent two days at Govinda. On Friday evening, December 3, 1987, he attended the launch of his exhibition Decades at the gallery, which featured his portraits of Chuck Berry, Ray Charles, the Rolling Stones, Cab Calloway, The Beatles, David Bowie, and many more. The next day at Govinda, Woody signed copies of his first book, Ron Wood by Ron Wood: The Works (Harper & Row), along with the book’s editor Bill German. This photograph shows Woody at the exhibition opening with gallery director Chris Murray.
