Elvis at 21 Exhibition Opens at The William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum

by Chris Murray on June 7, 2011

Elvis at 21: Photographs by Alfred Wertheimer arrived at The William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum last Saturday, May 28th. President Clinton is a big fan of Elvis Presley. It is a great honor to have the exhibition at the museum in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Here is a letter from President Clinton written to me almost fifteen years ago about Alfred Wertheimer’s photographs of Elvis. Govinda Gallery launched President Clinton’s White House Photographer Bob McNeely’s exhibition and book The Clinton Years in November of 2001.

Of course you know that when he was President, his secret service nickname was “Elvis,” and that he has the largest collection of EP memorabilia second to Graceland. LOVE Bob W, and his photos… I used many of them for my book: “Elvis: The Man, The Life, The Legend.” They are GORGEOUS.
