Andy Warhol Book Signing at Govinda Gallery
Andy Warhol being photographed by Washington Post photographer Lucian Perkins at Govinda Gallery during the launch and signing of Warhol’s photography book America (Harper Collins). Govinda was also exhibiting silkscreens from Warhol’s Ads series. The Washington Post published a front-page feature story on Warhol’s exhibition and book signing at Govinda written by Mary Battiata in Style on Friday, November 1st, 1985. Warhol told the writer “Since I have no memory, I take pictures.” Also in attendance were the book’s editor Craig Nelson and “photographer and Warhol protégé” Christopher Makos.
